Elise Uecker

Program: Online B.S. in Psychology
Day Job: Co-Owner of Walt Pins

Minneapolis, MN.

Elise Uecker decided to continue her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Concordia. It was important for her to find an online program that allowed her to balance her responsibilities. “I am able to dedicate the necessary time to each place that needs me and be successful. I am not missing out on school or making memories with my family,” she says.

Receiving support throughout her studies has helped Elise succeed. “My academic advisor has been very helpful. I have been very pleased by how accommodating and supportive he has been.” Continuing her education has also boosted Elise’s confidence: “I have been more proud of myself and have realized I can accomplish goals that I set for myself, big or small.”

At Concordia, Elise knows her goals are within reach. “I think [CSP] is a great place to achieve your dream of a better education,” she says.

William Hubbard

Program: Online MBA
Day Job: Head Brewer at Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative

St. Paul, MN

For Will Hubbard, finding a values-driven MBA was important, and Concordia University, St. Paul’s program had the community-based learning he was looking for. “I wanted a program that was focused on being ethically grounded,” he explained. As a marketing professional, Will wanted to pursue a flexible online degree that would fit his busy schedule. While in the online MBA program, Will worked as a marketing database analyst for Patterson Companies Incorporated, a corporate partner of CSP’s.

Once he began MBA coursework, Will knew he had chosen the right program. “It’s been a really enlightening experience. The teachers and members of my cohort have been great,” he said. He found that he could apply what he learned right away on the job, thanks to learning from professors with real-world experience. Will discovered that CSP’s emphasis on organizational leadership and applied business ethics was particularly valuable. “They provide a baseline for how business should be conducted, and how you should rethink your mindset to be about more than profit,” he said.

The online format has enabled him to balance work, family and study commitments and make his dream a reality. “It’s been a really exciting couple of years,” he said.

Jordan Brenny

Program: Online Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management
Day Job: Surgery Coordinator at Laser Precision Spine Surgery

Wasilla, AK

Jordan Brenny decided to continue her education by pursuing an online Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management degree at Concordia University, St. Paul: “Concordia University allowed me to work full-time while going to school online full time … This was a perfect option for me, as I live in Alaska and couldn’t come to physical classes.”

As a student at Concordia, Jordan found that her instructors provide both guidance and real-world insight into the human resources field. “They have all been nothing but helpful and personable … and I can tell they genuinely want us to succeed. They offer to read resumes, give references, and simply offer advice with anything we may have going on in the workplace or at home,” she says.

Earning a bachelor’s degree has enabled Jordan to make her career goals a reality.

At Concordia University St. Paul, we can’t wait to see what our students accomplish during their time here and when they graduate. Our small class sizes, caring professors, and tight knit community equip our graduates for a lifetime of career success and service. Needless to say, we’re quite proud. Not only do 95% of CSP grads transition to a full-time career or to further their education one year after graduation, they also earn more than the national average, 44% more to be exact. Oh, and they also have the highest average salary among Minnesota private school grads four years after graduation.

After graduation, our graduates move on to work with some amazing employers, continue on to graduate school, or land an internship with some of our local partners. CSP’s Office of Career Development provides many resources to support students and alumni with their career goals, including help with employment and graduate school research, resumes, networking, and interview skills. Our integrated career development plan meets you where you are, and provides you with tools and strategies to support you in achieving your current and future career goals.
